A typing speed test built for useful results

Keysloom measures correct typing speed and accuracy while you type. The test works directly in your browser, supports 27 languages, and offers optional mechanical keyboard sounds without distracting from the words.

01

Choose your test length

Use 15 or 30 seconds for a quick warm-up, 60 seconds for a repeatable benchmark, or 120 and 240 seconds to test sustained speed.

02

Type the words shown

The timer starts with your first character. Correct letters build your WPM score, while mistakes and corrections are reflected in accuracy.

03

Use the result as a baseline

Repeat the same duration and language for a fair comparison, then use the adaptive typing trainer to work on weak keys.

What WPM and accuracy mean

Words per minute (WPM)

A standard typing word equals five characters. Keysloom calculates WPM from correctly typed characters, so speed alone cannot hide a stream of errors.

Typing accuracy

Accuracy compares correct characters with all attempts, including mistakes you remove with Backspace. Clean, repeatable typing matters more than one unusually fast run.

Typing test FAQ

Common questions

How does this typing test calculate WPM?

Correct characters are divided by five to create standard words, then divided by elapsed time in minutes. Raw speed and accuracy remain separate so you can see whether faster typing stays precise.

How long should a typing test be?

A 60-second test is a practical all-round benchmark. Shorter tests are useful for warm-ups; two- and four-minute tests show how well you hold speed and accuracy over time.

What is a good typing speed?

A useful score is one you can repeat with high accuracy. Treat your first result as a baseline and compare tests with the same language, duration and word mode rather than chasing a single peak score.

Is the Keysloom typing test free?

Yes. You can run the typing speed test without creating an account. Local sessions stay in your browser; signing in is optional when you want synchronized typing statistics.
